Multiple G1 SW Congaree off to great start as sire |
7/12/2008 - Congaree got his second stakes horse today when For All Who Conga got up for place in the Frank Gomez Memorial Stakes at Calder. Left at the gate and far behind the early leaders, For All Who Conga was an impressive sight once he shifted into high gear and came charging down the stretch. He's one who looks like he'll do even better at a distance beyond today's six furlongs.
With Singing Rose winning a maiden special weight Thursday at Woodbine, Congaree now has four winners, including stakes winner Congo Kaye, and three more which have placed. For All Who Conga, bred in Florida by Rosebrook Farm LLC, was Congaree's first winner in his only other start to date, taking a maiden special weight at Calder on Father's Day. All together, his starters have won over $114,900, putting Congaree in the top tier of freshman sires, and second only to leader Lion Heart in number of stakes horses so far this year.
A five-time Grade 1 winner of over $3.2-million, Congaree stands at Adena Springs in Paris, Kentucky. Adena's website is www.adenastallions.com.
